I started Over the Moo about 2 years ago, when I saw a gap in the market for a reasonably priced and delicious vegan ice cream. Being lactose intolerant myself, I was sick of not having an ice cream option - so I decided to develop one myself.
At first, I sold the ice creams door-to-door to independent IGAs, even allowing it to be stocked on consignment. Before long, word got around and it started flying off the shelves. We now have nine flavours and sell to 350 independent grocers and 550 Woolworths stores across Australia.
I'm interested in chatting to other entrepreneurs and providing advice about how to sell a category, not just a product; cold chain logistics; inventory management; and product development.
